Dear Family and Friends of Lucy
Please accept our sincere and heartfelt condolences in the sad loss of Lucy and we are so very sorry that we are unable to be there to say our goodbyes and celebrate Lucy's life. However, we will be there in spirit thinking of Lucy and we will raise our glasses and toast an amazing innings from a wonderful lady.
Lucy was a very special friend whom we loved dearly and after being put in touch originally by her late nephew, David, we bonded over our love of cats and all things furry or feathered, cricket, cake and Cadbury's chocolate.
We stayed in touch over the years and have shared some lovely times, mainly enjoying tea together in the sunshine and birthday parties with Lucy's friends, one of the most memorable and treasured being afternoon tea at Sandy Lane. All those precious memories I will keep with me in my heart.
The last time we spoke, Lucy sounded so cheerful and well and we were excited and looking forward to seeing Lucy next month and joining in her 99th birthday celebrations. We really thought she would reach her century, but it was not to be.
We are truly blessed to have known Lucy and we give thanks to God for that.
'Godspeed Lucy, hope Danny and all the cats you have loved are waiting at Rainbow Bridge to greet you'.
Barbados won't be the same without you!
All our love Sue & Ian Shaw (Cheshire, England)
In lieu of flowers, we will be making a donation to The Ark, which we know was a charity especially close to Lucy's heart and I will also offer the birthday gifts we had for Lucy to raise funds.
